By the time you’re reading this, my first “official” Athens art show’s been up at the Athica Gallery for a full 3 weeks, but an insanely busy work schedule has kept me from posting about it sooner. Thursday, August 5th, sees the relaunch of the Knock Knock Dance Party at the Rye Bar, a collaborative attempt between myself and my buddy Merkatroid/Wonky Kong over at Jockin’ Bitz to foray into the somewhat cluttered landscape of dancefloor politics in Athens, Ga. As a veteran of the late 90′s/early 00′s dance scene boom, it pains me to see the lack of options for what I call “serious dance music” in Athens.
