Blue Mood Productions has really been ramping things up in Athens lately, scheduling some world class talent for the upcoming fall event calendar at New Earth Music Hall. One of the standout shows coming up is on October 8th with musical heavyweights Quantic and Phaeleh.

It’s that time of year again! The annual AthFest tradition, The Wired Dance Music Festival is upon us. Again, New Earth Music Hall will be the site of this long-running event, featuring 20+ local and regional DJ acts, all curated by local production team Dash Productions.

Cut a new mix over the weekend and decided to post here first, since it’s got some artwork associated with it. This is one of those situations where I had the artwork pretty much done months ago, but got too busy to cut the actual mix.

Thursday, August 5th, sees the relaunch of the Knock Knock Dance Party at the Rye Bar, a collaborative attempt between myself and my buddy Merkatroid/Wonky Kong over at Jockin’ Bitz to foray into the somewhat cluttered landscape of dancefloor politics in Athens, Ga. As a veteran of the late 90′s/early 00′s dance scene boom, it pains me to see the lack of options for what I call “serious dance music” in Athens.

Now in its 9th year, the Wired Dance Music Festival in Athens is a showcase of local and regional talent currently active in the electronic music scene. While the annual AthFest celebrations traditionally focus on highlighting established and upcoming bands, Wired was conceived as a vehicle for DJs and producers to push their respective genres to the forefront with no artistic restrictions.

New Earth Music Hall just released their full lineup for the New Earth Day Festival to be held on April 22, 23, and 24.

Common Ground Athens is a community resource center in Athens, Ga, dedicated to “progressive social change” in the community. On April 10th, from 11am to 1pm, they are hosting a Mayoral Town Hall Meeting at Lay Park hoping to facilitate dialogue between members of the community and the various candidates for Mayor of Athens on issues related to sustainability.

Atlanta-based Household Management Agency has really stepped it up this year with the promotion. They are pulling out all the stops with their pool party/artist showcase at this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Tirelessly putting on for his city, Atlanta-based DJ/producer/promoter Rob Wonder secured a night at El Bar with man of the moment L-Vis 1990. This London producer is absolutely on fire right now, pushing his own brand of future bass music on labels like Mad Decent,Sound Pellegrino and his own Night Slugs label he runs with fellow DJ/producer Bok Bok.

The folks at Household Management and Abstract Logic Recordings are putting together a music compilation and asked Neumachina to art direct and design the project.

100% of the proceeds of this release – entitled ‘Inner Child’ – will benefit the Atlanta-based non-profit Dreamhouse for Kids, who provide care to medically fragile children.
